Well it was a real treat to see Jari again. My job offers me a wonderful opportunity to travel and meet people. It's always a pleasure when I can get to be in the company of someone I met during a visit, and Jari is no exception.
He's such a great guy, and fun to be with. We're all really lucky that he wrestles a bit with his english, otherwise he'd be far too witty for us. My colleague Gordie invited Jari, another coworker and myself up to his country place in the lower laurentians. This time near Harrington (as I explained below a region which was familiar to me 20 years ago).
The fall weather was spectacular, we walked on Mt. Tremblant, had steamies and poutine, later a fine pasta dinner with wine, and a couple of snorts of singlemalt whiskey. Gordie's wife even sent us up with a danish apple pie (crumbly top).
And then the swim.
Ok, so it wasn't a long swim, but we were in the water. The air temp was around 8C or about 46F, and the water somewhat cooler.
That's what you get when you taunt a Finn about swimming in a northern lake without, how did I put it..."the sissy heat benifits of Sauna"
