Light

Clocks went forwards...more light!

Spring seems to be here...the glaciers in the back yard are melting.
Last weekends extra day off really made this weekend feel short though...

We spent today at Hannah's, at her annual tea part for Colins mothers birthday. It was really nice...fresh baked cranberry scones...little chocolate brownies...fresh strawberries... a Calafornian Brut...and a delicious cheesecake.

Max and Ann were there, along with Helga (and Madeline of course). It was a warm gathering. With lots of stories about travels...I managed to remember to return the book 101 thing to do in Helsinki which Max lent me last year.

Coling felt bad about a mixup in the planning, where another couple didn't end up getting invited...he's always beating himself up over something...he suggested to plan yet another gathering.

It was a treat to see Madeline dancing with Helga.

Bikes Raking and Even More Work (is it possible?)

Well Gio came over this am and we had coffee and worked with the bikes a bit...flopping tires etc. I had him ride the rollers to get over his fear...it was funny. His pedal stroke is so uneven he was bouncing like a kid on a pogo stick.

Loren and I raked the yard...it is indeed spring. House looks great from the outside...I hope we get a good sping cleaning inside this year.

And four hours at work... Liu Yan, I felt deserved some extra attention...with several meetings this week and an appointment with Hilary, for which I had to leave work early, I was away from the classroom for quite a while, and made it up to him by offering four hours on the weekend. He's come all the way from Zhuhai, South China, he deserves it.

I'm five weeks into an eight week course. I am exhausted

Really I am...it's a one-on-one course, and that takes a tremendous amount of energy and attention to keep a training program moving along...

Off to see the Yoga Unveiled movie tomorrow, might bump into Julie (Lotus Garden).

Well...12:53...waaay too late again.
Loren and I had a very nice 179 new moon dinner...and I'm still up...she's retired to bed hours ago...
I've got Encomium loaded in itunes for mp3 encoding...another 775 cd to go...or there 'bouts...

So Busy Soooo Tired

Well I've finally picked up my pants from the dry-cleaner/taylor.
I bought them primarily to wear during this current course. Which means I've had them for over 5 weeks...

It took me that long to get around to hemming them and getting them dropped off for alteration...

And Jari is in town from Finland, we'll be spending the weekend with him up in Tremblant. The group will be several of us from work and two other of Jari's co-workers. I met them both during my stay in Helsinki, looking forward to seeing Peteri again...

2 weeks left in the course...did I mention that I am soooo tired???

Asked a question at work today during the big meeting with our depts new director...it seemed to impress a lot of people...stepped into the spotlight again...perhaps soon they'll realize that my best skill is asking contextually significant questions and offer me a job as a corporate process consultant? Or perhaps they'l just give me more responsibilites a little more money and extract the same input from me??? We'll see...

Cottage in Nova Scotia is confirmed...hope we're there in time for crab...but I think we've missed it by a long shot...

Still encoding my music colection to mp3 for my eventual purchase of an ipod...still ripping at 192...am guessing that I'll curse myself for not going to A's lossless compression....

I've got a stack of Big Sugar disks to rip...might as well send one of them on it's way to my hard drive and call it a night....

Power comes to those who are deserving of it...there is no authentic power without personal surrender...forget about all the empowering/dis-empowering goings-on at the office...

And besides...I think that having power isn't merley the ability to control situations which affect others...but the ability to enable others to be sensitive to situations where they might be affected, or changed...

Some Rest

Well it's Saturday morning....nope correction Saturday afternoon. Loren and I are lazing around having a slow day taking it easy, trying to get rested. We're both quite exhausted these days.

I've got one more week to do with my current training assignment. This one has been particularly challenging, not only because of the unsual duration (8 weeks), but because the student has prior experience (that's right one week one-on-one). I am confident that we would have offered a different training solution for this client if we had engaged in a bit more consultation before hand, that would have made for a much more realistic mandate for me.

Loren and are are starting to plan out our vacation. We're booked into a cottage in Nova Scotia for seven days, and we'll drive around NS doing some Bed and Breakfasting before we turn aound and head home. We'll probably stop by her parent's cottage in New Brunswick at least once, it'll be nice to see them at the beach.

It's a rainy Saturday here in Montreal and Loren and I are staying close to home to get some weel deserved rest. Perhaps I'll get a practice in this afternoon, before we nap and start on dinner...we'll probably watch the Andy Goldsworthy show on tv tonight, and share some wine and cheese with a fire in the fireplace.

I Promise

blistered birthday hands
the shovel is cruel...
a bed of ashes in wet clay earth
yoghurt and flowers
a cedar cover
one last pepper girl
as I carry you to your resting place
nose pointing to the house
hup in the house Luna
nose pointing to the house
like an ongoing blossom
our lives together

New...All New

New cycles for,
Work, eating, asana, bike riding, dressing...you name it.
8 week course is over, and I am exhasuted.
The course went quite well though it was tough for sure.
And I now need a change.

Some big new projects at work, very much looking forward to ramping up to learn the new stuff. Very short courses, ranging from 1/2 a day to 2 days. It'll be fresh.

Will re-establish daily asana...I was managing 3x/week during the first month, and then faded to 1x/week during the second. I want my mornings back. Then gently ease into the 25 km commute by bike to work. Will kick start the physicality with Sunday's ride and perhaps a drop in ashtanga class with Itay (if he's finally teaching).

The maritime contract was pushed back, but Loren and I will still vacation in Nova Scotia. Very much looking forward to the trip.

Gio and I tuned the bikes a few nights ago. Looks like a group ride is forming for this Sunday. I might finally get a chance to meet Van (Gio's GF). Might be as manyas 8 people riding if Rick and Cecile get it together...

Will bring the camera...

After several rainy days the sky broke this afternoon...em>

Agreeable Weekend

Well...some chores done aournd the house and 295...saw the rabbit again in the back yard...spoke to him for a while before he ran off.

Wonderful dinner...pasta, salad and some wine. Watched the Johnny Cash tribute concert, some parts are very touching, and some great music too.

Am now busy getting my gear together for tomorrow's ride at bromont. The bikes are in good shape, including the shocks...the winter didn't seem to wear the seals on the gaskets of the air springs this year. Winter in the garage can be hell on those seals.

Looks like Jeromy, and Sophie, Rick and Marc (not Cecile), Drew myself and Gio will ride...perhaps even Van. Maybe an 8 person ride...it's been a lng time since I've been on a sortie that large. Am very much looking forward to it. Hope to get some pix too.

It's probably been raining at bromont for a few days now, so I imagine that tomorrow's ride will be sloppy. I'm planning to ride the Specialzed, and keep the Trek clean for a little while.
Mental note to self...get new brake housing for the rear...

Loren's in bed and Van Morrison's Common One is playing. It is truely a wonderful album.

My heart is aching for the singeltrack...

It won't be long now...
