Turning Tides

Well my 2nd training contract is over.
Did I bother to write about how much I love my job?
1st a client from Amsterdam, and then the Swiss. Was a full four-week course with the Swiss. It was exciting and exhausting all at the same time.

Now I'll be able to manage some personal time during the days again...

Finished a long mini-cleanup in the garage, and minor adjusting to the hardtail for tomorrow's ride.

Looks like it'll be just gio and me...Doug bailed...Marc-A and Andie haven't called...
It might be a rain ride...some of my favorite and most enjoyable rides have been in the rain.

Amber visits on Sunday...I have tocall about Steve Gadd tickets...

Old School Ride

It was a rainy ride at Rougemont yesterday. Just Gio and me.
I rode my hardtail, and found the old trail exit down by the stream crossing that we used to ride 15 years ago. Very enjoyable. We found a new trail that's been cut. It leads away from the D section that joins with the lake-leg-junction. And joins back to the D just below the LLJ...it's a nice option.

Also seems that riding on the other side of the lake may now be permissable. I was speaking with a couple (who seem to have a lot of local knowledge) that the land owners are ok with that now. I really hope that's the case. It'll be a whole new mountain to ride if so. They also described how to get to the upper lake. Little Rougemont isn't so little anymore.

Mysore Tuesdays

First Tuesday of the month that is. Which means we're on for this Tuesday.
In 2 days it'll be our fisrt time practicing with Christine present as our Mysore teacher.
It's going to be interesting to see how the dynamic changes from everyone doing a lead-session to individual practice. I think Gilles will really take to it...and Colin too by competitive extension. I hope Charles finds it agreeable. And I hope Loren will join us from time to time.

Christine is great to agree to offer this house visit. I think I've mentioned that before?? Well I'm really thankful.

Off to Get Amber

We're going to spend some time with Amber today. Lunch and painting and drums and dinner...and maybe even a Steve Gadd workshop tonight...if the event is not sold out...

Finally Up Early

After so long trying (failing) to get up early...
All it took is one of the most beautiful loaves of bread I've ever had in my life.

Colin and Gilles were over last night...Thursday night asana (Still primary to Janu B and finishing).

Colin brought the bread.
Great coffee, the best bread toasted and topped with humus, another with Loren home made peach jam.
So far a very good start to my las day of work before vacation.
Last day of training the internal employees.

Loren and I are considering the Dharma Mittra seminar at Sattva for the Saturday session.

Workshop

It was really a treat to see Dharma Mittra.
His chanting, and chanting instruction was one of the highlights of the workshop.
He has an amazing grace with his body in the postures...very touching.
Loren and Hannah and I stayed only for the morning session.

Dharma's talks were not so inspiring, he had very little to say given his extensive experience. However...
"The true Lord dwells in the right side of the heart, this is where one goes during dreamless sleep. Direct your attention here and you shall also dwell with the lord."

He said something like this...it sounds like a quote from the Ghita. He made it make sense to me. It has already changed my practice/life forever.
