Loren and I were invited out to dinner with the gang from Bangalore.
Smitha, Kishore, Sunil and Vidhu were wonderful hosts. Smitha is a g great cook!!
She had lots of restrictions, Lorens fatal allergies (all dhal etc...) and preferences (no cumin) :-( and still she cooked delicious food. Chicken and cauliflower, bean veg dish, fish rich and chapati. Oh yeah gulab jamun for sweets!! Yum! A little early sampling of my diet to come.
Here's a few pics...

"...I don't know if it was the yoghurt, the Kit-Kat, or the V8, but I've got an upset stomach..."
It's been three weeks now since the weekly Thursday night session took it's hiatus. And only twice since then have I gotten to the mat. Last night I did up to the prasaritas.
Haven't heard from Sharmila yet, I emailed her about a week ago. I'm going to ask Sunitha to contact her by phone to go over schedule and availability. I certainly hope the Bangalore branch of ayri is still open for business.
The count-down is on... 2 Wednesday's left before I leave...
Must find the time to paraphrase the interview with the MD at the travel clinic... it's a duzie!
I've had to time to write (here).
A situation at work materialized which has seen me chained to my desk writing. I love writing...I really get into it...in a bit of an obsessive way. This work is long over due, as usual we're doing it because a client has made an issue (about not having any documentation). I've tried for 3 years straight to get the project together in a way we'd all be proud of...to no avail. Give one course to one particularly fussy client and then there's an emergency. The way of the world.
I'm coordinating 6 authors and one doc editor...all this just when I should be getting all my prep done for India. It is so hectic right now in my head...
So after several weeks (months??) of no practice...I though it would be a good idea to get a little 108 sun salutation party together. Good thinking eh? Warm up the hamstrings for practice with Sharmila right???
Started off as 108 and a fair well party, though my invite was late getting out (distancing myself from accountability) and the turn out would have been low, and Colin and Hannah wouldn't be able to make it. I'm going to have a welcome home party instead.
We did have a small gathering, Christine, Gilles, Loren and I did sun sals. Loren did about 20 minutes worth... The gang from Bangalore came over and we had a very nice pot-luck dinner. Channa curry, dosas, smoked salmon wrapped around cucumber and blue cheese, rice and kidney bean salad (with no kidney beans), very yummy cole slaw, fresh sauteed mushroom picked from the lawn at 295 sauteed and consumed within 30 minutes of picking... and apple pie!!! I'm sure I'm leaving something out...it was all wonderful...
It was a crazy day with all the plans going off course...kind of funny...Christine ended up at Longelier metro instead of Longueuil...I lost my wallet (and recovered it the next day). The list of kookiness goes on...though I've no time to commit it to bits and bytes.
2 roofs are leaking
Home and Vue... the Vue was fixed this am, and home next Friday.
Ethereal Cake
Ed was over last night to collect some gear, we played a bit and had a nice visit together.
Finances
Taxes almost all paid...no money left at all...
India
4 weeks instead of 6, not getting the 1st weekend to prep as planned. Lots of air miles to gather
The ipod is almost full!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were out last night with Colin and Hannah and Madeline.
It was a birthday supper for Hannah arranged by Madeline, Colin decided on the restaurant and it was Symposium... a Montreal institution indeed. It was my first time...
Wow!!!
Really fantastic food...
Octopus, calamare, grilled zucchini with tzatziki, Greek salad, saganaki starters...
Complete meals unto themselves... perfectly prepared...
Salmon, Mediterranean Bass, and Porgy, and Shrimp were the main courses... Lots of food...
Colin ordered a nice Chablis...
Service was great... family style... wonderfully nutty waiters.
They prepared complimentary desserts for us... those fried balls (don't know what they're called)... and the best fruit cocktail in the world. Fresh mint leaves, pineapple, mandarin, grape, pomegranate, with a mix of creme de menthe, frangellico, (one more I can't remember). Stunning dish...I know it's odd to rave about such a simple dessert when so much good food was served...but it was out of this world...
It was good to see Colin and Hannah before I leave... would have felt strange otherwise...
I hope my body and I can handle the shock of starting a daily practice again...
In 6 days I'll be in Jayanagar for morning practice with Sharmila.
And then there's the mental shock... so much left to do...
Four bags of wet leaves in the dark. The big orange ones...
Had a nice pasta dinner with Loren and then went out to do yardwork...
The neighbours must think we're kooks...
Going to watch Earth with Loren...

In India will likely have fewer calories...
This is cafe latte with home made bran muffin, 2 home made macaroons, and toast with St. Andre cheese. I'd have to eat a whack of idlly to rack up the same caloric content.
