Asana

Core four last night, Charles, Gilles, Colin and me. Gilles is suspecting he has an injured hamstring... I think he pulls really hard in his forward bends. Going to have to have him read the Dona Holleman section [in Dancing the Body of Light] about elongating vs. stretching. And I have cancelled our tuesday nights so he can give it some rest.

Big Science

(Laurie Anderson)
Wow...
It's been over 5 years the cd has been missing from our collection. And at least that long since I've listened to it. On the drive to work this morning had it playing in the car. One of my top 5 favorite albums ever. Those tracks are wonderfully quirky powerful and touching creations.

90 rpm and the 100 Word Mantra

90 rpm is a guess, I don't really measure cadence... though I was playing the 100 word mantra disc Gilles brought me back from China.

Did a nice little roller session last night. CatEye stats shall be posted tomorrow... alas still no heart rate stats... battery still kaput.

3 min light pedal big and 3rd last <22KM/HR (warm up)
3 min same gear 28 KM/HR (recovery pace)
3 min one bigger gear (big and 2nd lst) 33KM/HR (effort interval)
3 min big and 3rd last 28KM/HR (recovery pace)
3 min big and last 40KM/HR (effort interval)
3 min big and 3rd last 28KM/HR (recovery pace)
3 min one bigger gear (big and 2nd lst) 33KM/HR
3 min light pedal big and 3rd last <22KM/HR (cool down)

Followed by 3 sun sals to loosen the lower back.

Asana

Gym routine as usual for these days, up to purvatanasana, no finishing. No steam bath either. It's out of commission. :-(

Asana

Very lite session this morning. Sun sals, padangust-padahast and both trikonasanas. Good routine until my back sorts itself out. Currently I'm in a phase where I'm a little lop-sided in the pelvis, though in no pain. That's one of the things I'd like to use 99to1 to track... the frequency of my back issue. Will have to put more effort into it.

Heavy

Have been dragging my feet lately... literally. Feel heavy and clutsy. Didn't even do a full ride with Gio on Sunday, despite setting out to redo last week's canal wall...

And today... very deep sleep in the am. Odd dream about being in a feudal territory... warlords with guns. I was travelling atop a tall pile of stuff on a truck bed or somesuch. Wasn't afraid and wasn't hiding from the gunmen, even though I was cognitive that I would be a prime target for them. I was confident I was safe.

Sacrum

Thanks to an early morning slumbering stretch, my sacrum popped and has returned to it's rightful location, and I feel fantastic.

For future reference... I was face down and was doing a kind of a dynamic twisting stretch. I think pelvis was pointing slightly to the right at the start, and the stretch was initiated by pushing into the hands and feet, turned to pelvis to point to the left. A very definite and painless pop was felt. And immediately my body relaxed out of a state of tension it's been in since my lst week in Tokyo.

The last time this happened, a simmilar stretch also restored pelvic integrety, though I was face-up. Yes I had been trying to replicate that experience all through this bout.

Thankfully this time I was not in pain... just relentless muscular trauma as the muscles tried to keep firing to establish stability and support where the bones usually do.

Did about 5 minutes of equal standing... just soaking it in... and lovin'it.
