Kinda postless...
Time to resume with regular recording of some of the details of my life...

Vacation/Edmonton
Got terribly sick on vacation... aweful throat sinus chest thing. Found a good natural health supply store and picked up some silver. Did lots of sleeping on vacation. We kicked around Edmonton training Bill's new choco-lab named Jake and ate with abandon.

Biking
Rougemont
Land owners have apparently signed an agreement to keep mountain bikers off the land. Summer of 05 was the heyday for our riding. Who knows awhat another couple of years will yeild. Might need an association to reestablish access... we'll see...
Canal wall
Have done 2 or 3 rides with Gio, and one with Doug. Doug got pretty bad poison-ivy reaction. And yesterday got out for a lakeshore road ride with Glen and Mitch, followed by a couple of beers and a burger at Clyde's.

Asana
Did one week of mysore practice with Rameen and got sick. Was on track to have a nice routine with Bill loaning the jeep as transport. Have done 2 Thursday night sessions. From this point on the Thursday night gang shall be known as GAS or Grassroots Ashtanga Society. It'll be a double entendre as that's often what is most apparent on Friday (gas)... beer soft cheeses and bread, and other good bean-based veggie fair...

Weather
Not lots of people would agree, but Loren and I think this has been the best summer weather in Montreal in very long time. Typically July gets very hot, not so this year. Lots of rainy days have kept the temps down, and still somehow lots of sunny days as well.

Nice dinner out with Loren last night. Salad, pizza, glass of wine.
Funny story about how the server was apparently adding her tip to the gift/reward card I was trying to use as payment... and then exceeded the amount of the card! She indicated that she had no idea why the transaction was being declined! The invoice total was below the card amount, but not the combined meal/gratuity... funny. I could have told her why if she had informed me of the amount she was processing. I wonder if the machine is set up to automatically add the tip?

Maybe Loren and I will do some postures tonight... looking forward to it...
Maybe even a bike ride on the circuit Gilles Villeneuve (just me)... weather is still great...

The really sad news... Rougemont is off-limmits to mountain bikers. The late warm afternoon rides Gio and Drew and I spent 2 summers (??) ago have turned out to be the good 'ol days. Even though it's also fair to say that pre-ice storm days actually were the good 'ol days...

Heavy sigh...

It occured to me last night that practicing asana is like opting for self inflicted growing pains.

Weekend past Loren baked the best bran muffins ever. Really, the best ever.
One douzen golden brown raisin and apricot beautiful bombs.

I ate one, Loren ate one... and Santosh ate 10.
We didn't put them far enough out of her reach when we left the house for a while.

That little dog was quite busy in the back yard doing her business the next day I'll say!

Last week
Small gathering of the GAS (grassroots ashtanga society). Christine, Colin and me. Gilles was at the Police concert, and Charles was in vacation mode. Donald... well not sure if he's ever going to make it regularly.

Week before last
Half an hour of postures with Loren Wednesday night, then a nice little dinner. Bread, cheese, sausage, smoked steelhead trout openface sandwich, with a Mcauslin appricot beer.

Did 3 and 3 sun sals and first 4 standing postures, final 3 and rest. I was moving particularly slowly and doing 8 breath holds. Looks like we're going to be doing weekly Wednesdays together.
