From Bonnaventure autoroute at dawn, last Friday

From Wellington bridge during rush hour

Heading into my last course of the year. Six weeks with another Chineese client. Off to a good start day one... the students appear very keen. My favorite condition...
New type of post... we all have a few people who are well intentioned, who forward all sorts of email garbage... just to keep in touch. Personal spam, or PSpam. I'm going to post the subject line of the email I get from my buddy Alberto (he's my primary Pspammer).
Subject: rats with cute tails
It's Tuesday again...
I'm off to a power yoga class to get yelled at, floint my feet and melt my heart...
Wish me luck...
So it seems that Charles suffered a bit last week without audio instruction... going to have to use the tapes again... a few weeks with David Swenson... followed by a few weeks with Guruji's Maui tape and then he'll [they'll] have it mezmorized...
Oh wait that'll be holiday season... and he's going to France before that... so basically we'll be back to square one in Late January some time... oh yeah... I may leave for a while in Jan... so let's push it back to mid-to-late February for fun.
It all happens at square one... that's the place to be
I shouldn't make fun the way I did yesterday... the teacher is a sweetheart and is very well intentioned. She does speak really loud though... in a space which is an old squash court, now covered in mirrors... lots of echo... very bad acoustics.
FW: HO HO HO!!! -Tech Support
Practice 5&5 and primary up to marichi B, some [efforts at] backbending, and final poses. Charles piped up on cue as soon as we did marichi A... "we've never done these poses before!!!" I had wondered, what would be the number poses after janu C it would take for him to find a way to signal that he though it should be over by now? Count .5
Charles brought grilled zuchini and veggies on couscous, Gilles brought eggplant burritos and Christine brought the fixings to make a killer caesar salad. And I brought some cheese and beer. Really tasty snacks... Colin was absent, Don well, he's not replying to the invites any more... not sure what's up with that.
Gille brought a mastered tune for us to listen to, from the album he's working on. A song called Crawl... Sounded great. He played all the parts, really quite impressive. He says he's got 13 more tracks to do... If I remember correctly his record launch is in November???
Very few nights left with Christine... can't imagine what she's going through... nothing that a little shopping at MEC can't fix I suppose.
Might be off to the country with Hannah and Colin this weekend...

Had another very nice opportunity to spend time with Colin and Hannah at the cottage. We either were napping, or eating. Or planning to nap or eat...

It's been about a month now that I've been doing apple cider vinegar and honey concoction twice daily [morning and night]. This and my recent trip to Karen and a recent session at the gym in the steam bath and sauna have been making me feel like hard stuff inside has been breaking down. I feel softer all around and my back is becoming open and alive. I'm thinking that alternating months with the juice is a good idea.
Soon to back off the coffee [a bit] and maybe the cramps will stop? It's been several months now that small cramps easily creep into my feet. I've decided to let them come and go as they please, to not stretch them out as they appear. I've been through some pretty uncomfortable moments in that regard. The result is that my feet appear to have drained themselves of stuff, they too feel more open, and I have lots of subtle control over the toes now, picking things up with them is way easier now. Can't imagine doing that cramp therapy with the bigger muscles!! Though I'm sure I'd feel wonderful if I could survive a month of quad hamstring and calf cramping. A real yogi's body I'd have then...
Can't believe that I didn't make time to document how wonderful last week's session with Karen was... she did 3 major cervical adjustments in the spot which has been nagging me for months. Then she sealed it off with her subtle energetic touch. What are the infinite possibilities?
GAS tonight with Gilles and Colin. Charles is in France again, and Christine is busy wrapping up her life before the big trip. Likely we'll have one more session with her before she goes.
FW: Why men wear earings
Have been meaning to post this for a while...

this is my gift to you:
If I balance on one leg
perfectly still
breathing in / breathing out
how long will I stand
for you?
for ever
So my daily commute offers me a view of two things which have become objects of a small photo essays; The Victoria Bridge, and the Canada Maltage Silos.
Going to do my best to get daily shots. I'm not stepping out of the car so the viewpoints are quite limited, and lots of repition is expected. Light quality and season change are lkely the most significant features of the work over time... bear with me... the first posts will feature shots from the past week or two, enjoy...

Last week was fun...
Colin, Jeromy, and Gilles... didn't think Jeromy would ever come along. I suspect it may have been his last... we'll see... Charles is still in France, and Christine had house guests. I'm pretty sure Don is out for good. Phone message from him on my work line late Friday... how many times have I told him my mobile is the best way to reach me?
JanuB did my sacrum in [I'm blaming the asana, not my apprach
Have been reading a yoga book by AG Mohan, another of Krishnamacharia's students. It's interesting to read his notes on vinyasa krama, and to compare/contrast his interpretation of he learning with K to Iyengar and Jois and Deshikachar.

FW: Inspired by the weather.....
Called in sick today.
My visit with Karen turned into an emergency vist. Upon calling in to the office while in transit, I learned that I had gotten the date of my appointmen wrong, I was supposed to be there next Thursday. Karen's 8AM was a no-show and I had another wonderful treatment with her, moments after she finished composing her Not Guilty plea on her fresh moving traffic violation.
Spent the day on the floor and in the hot-tub. I'll be a spectator tonight at 295. Didn't do any photos this morning, wasn't carrying anything more than I had to. Back's been out for 1 week now. First time ever the sacrum went for it's little walk resulting from doing asana, typically it happens when I'm not doing any.
Of photos...and work...Friday also didn't go in... very back back still... though much better after both treatments (Christine and Karen). I'm about better now, maybe 90%... so it's lasted just about 2 weeks.
And I think maybe Monday I missed taking photos too??? Was it battery dead? If I did actually take some... my numbering scheme isvery soon to be messed up...
