Catching up

Written Wednesday night… Hilary was magnificent btw…

So I’ve manifested the ability to compose messages at night without having to sit at the computer station. The company finally got me a portable…

I’ve envisioned more posting (amongst other things) if this ended up being the case… there seems to be a few wireless networks around though none are strong enough… would have been fun to compose and post all in the same time-frame…

Gio’s just left; we built a second pair of studded ice tires… I reminded myself to take pictures as we went… didn’t happen… will have to take some of the final product. I think I’m short a bit on the rear tire. Need another 50 screws.

From memory the last post was on my second Sunday in Florida…
I got quite quiet during that trip… very little motivation to post… quite an introverted month for me.

Yogani is a nice place, very well set up, including 2 showers in the men’s room. I did 2 classes, both times the Sunday lead primary class. I had the regular teacher and a sub, Eric, and Chuck. They’re both wonderful. It’s been quite a while since I’ve been to a lead class… I was quite surprised by the number of people who could do janu C. In Montreal lot’s of teachers skip in a lead class, so the regulars may not even know it exists.

Hot room, ‘round 80, I though I sweat lots, before…

Chuck passed on a CD he thinks is the Dalai Lama. I’m pretty sure it isn’t. It’s Sanskrit, not Pali, or Tibetan, and it really does not sound like HH to me. Any how… details…
It is a beautiful chant, repeats itself for about 1 hour and 10 minutes (maybe 108 times??)

Tuesday night I did sunsals for the duration… full versions with 5 breaths. I threw in B’s when the octave dropped, ended up being about 8 of the in all.

We’re moving into a new phase with Loren and her family. We were there over Christmas, and though it was a nice visit, it was tiring. Her dad was obviously suffering with Alzheimer’s. This was confirmed just after our return after Loren and Margo got in touch with Bill’s doctor. His diagnosis, and prognosis were a bit surprising… looks like it’s going to be a challenging couple of years.

Tomorrow night is the first gathering of the GAS since some time in December. Looks like Colin and Gilles and me. The boys from Tampa may stop by after for the post-asana snacks…

I’ve picked up Vera’s 08:00 Hilary appointment tomorrow morning, so I should let myself drift off...

Written Last Sunday

Well it’s late…
Lazy Sunday. Colin was over this morning, for a quick breakfast visit, and to revisit the rowing machine particulars, so he can fix it. Hannah is in Florida…

Added to the growing list of mp3s today, ripped another ~600 songs. The ne iPod is over half full now (I’m an optimist).

Little birthday party for Colleen… wine and cheese at their place and then off to the ceramic café to build some stuff…

Not so late home, though I had to putz with the pcs a bit more. And then over to 295... Did the 1 hour of sun sals again. I feel the foundation of a good forward bend developing… Have been playing that Om Tryam Bakham chant as a timing device. It is wonderful, thank-you Chuck. This was the 3rd time I’ve tried this undertaking. First was last Tuedday night and then I offered it up on Thursday... Not sure Gille and Colin want to do that again.

Hips/sacrum feel good… after a nap on Saturday I stretched and felt the articulation of it all going back in place… it’s been out a while, though I’ve not been in pain, just felt that there was an imbalance/instability.

Heading into week 2 with the boys from Tampa... The production expert likes what they’ve done so far... heop we can keep that project moving along with the same momentum...

As I mentioned it’s late (actually it’s a ridciculous hour) given the time I want to be up...

Lights out...

Written Last Night...

As I suspected, having a portable may not make writing any easier.
Ripped another couple of hunderd songs this weekend. 1st song to play on shuffle tonight was something called Skye Boat Song. It from the Pipe and Drum album ripped today.

Well it’s late again... John Hyatt singing words of wisdom now... the pipes are 2 songs gone...

Am feeling good. This is the 3rd Sunday night I’ve done the om-triam-bakam sunsals. Gently energized...

The letter Viv said she’s sending hasn’t come yet. (more on that later) Loren probably right, it got held up in customs. A package from Christine did get though however. In her post-card accompanying the Cost-Rican coffe she sent, she indicates that the packages she’s been sending to friends are taking forever to arrive. Well if she’s sending every one else coffee to, I’ll bet it looks conspicuous enough to open at the border to check for narcotics. And the package I received was indeed openned at the border! Really wonderful coffee too. She say’s she sent the every-day coffee... not the expensive stuff... it made for an excellent latte this morning.

Heading into week 3 with the extended training with Al and Zach from Tampa... it’s quite an exhausing way to start the year. A 2 month assignment... I’m suspecting the Helsinki trip might get shifted... have seen email trail which may pose some issues... we’ll see.

Dinner at Don’s Saturday night. Christmas/Gerry birthday gathering. Jill and Florence, Don Gerry and Loren and me. Don served salmon, he’s a really good cook. Consumed way too much... and forgot to ask to borrow his tape deck. I’d like to rip some things from tape to mp3.

Well... some Brian Eno (ambiant) is gently piping into the headphones... a subtle reminder that I should be winding down...

Written

Took a sick day Monday (yesterday). Sore throat, likely fever, started on silver and rested the entire day. Feel much better now. Got some new #10 screws to finish the rear tire with. Weather looks like it might cooperate for some frozen-ice riding conditions... we’ll see...

Finances took a beating while in Florida, got the oil bill today and looks like between Loren and my best efforts I still missed a payment. I owe 850$ on this statement, and I payed almost 700$ for other missed payments, with 600$ of oil delivered this statment. That leaves a couple of hundred not payed somehow... hate it when that happens...

Seems the Function controls(F9/F10/F11) for brightness on the new laptop have now decided to work... I’ve spent way too much time with the ATI control pannel in the last 2 weeks... no idea what changed. Though now I’m on battery... we’ll see if tomorrow it operates on AC...

Rick called several times today, he asked by voicemail if I am a Radiohead fan... I think they’re in town?? Myabe the show was tonight?? More we’ll see...

Maybe seeing Tara, yeah that’s Tara this week, she’s contacted me to offer to give back my baby rings I gifted those to her when we were dating in secorday school. I once dug around in my baby stuff looking for them, I’d forgotten where they were... nice of her... I guess it’s just a matter of time until we meet up with everybody we’ve ever known with all the social networking websites... I confess I’m a reluctant user... very reluctant.

Drew has brought our dishes to work. The ones from last weeks birthday party for Coleen. I want to see Manu’s!!!

Keith Jarret playing from Standards Vol 1, recently ripped to the ipod... god that thing is fantastic...

Off to bed before it gets too late...

Crazy Big Moon

Over the city skyline this morning. It looked to be in the north-west, or the north-north west.
Very imperssive...
As was looking the eclipse last night, a wonderful orangish glow or hue cresent sliver...
Wow

Written Sunday Night...

The week’s off to a good start again...

Triyam Bakam Sun sals... one hour and change. Mostly A’s with six B’s, all full five breaths in downdog. Geek-warning... got some stats this time... turns out to be right in the fat-burn heart rate... all those old records citing surya namaskar as beneficial for weight-loss must be correct in my book. Though I’m sure the old yoga texts don’t support wolfing down a big bowl of pasta and a tall cold beer as the apres-asana diet.

sunsal stats:

24/02.08
1.04.39 Time
22.43 In zone (120-176)
113 Ave
525/55 Cal/%fat
19060 Total calories burnt

Stayed up late Friday night, we had Al and Zach over for dinner, we had a really nice time. They were both good with Zen as they both have dogs...

The guys brought flowers for Loren and some wine... we served a corn and ham chowder, followed by a main of seasoned pork sausage, new potatos, and green beans. And a really nice wild berry torte from Pagel for desert.... yum freakin’ yum...

Lot’s of napping this weekend... and house cleaning, quite balanced in the end. Am slowly getting the album art into the iPod. iTunes wasn’t so good, and I’ve only tried one freeware app... may try another shortly. Given there’s over 6000 songs loaded, it’s a big job.

Well it’s quite late (I’m going to have to try to get that to not be a regular feature of my week) and I’ve got an appointment with Karen in the morining. Didn’t put my order in for seasoned pecans early enough. They’ll be ready tomorrow, just not f or the morning... two trips to Fournil in one day, how luck am I?

These are the mornings which would have made that Victoria bridge photo doccument project start to tuen interesting... the light is so different from when I started... we’ll see if I ever get my flickr page going...

This is my last week with the boys from Tampa. I need a break from this assignment... I’ve been working on this training project for 7 weeks now. It’s not the guys... just a very long time with a schedule not entirely my own... a bit like a marathon it has been...

Post surya namaskar, I am devoting my practice to Luna... our sweet girl dog... it was Feb 25th in 05 she passed... boy was that ever a hard time...
