This life...

Well there's been so much to write about...
Why have I not een commtting it all to these pages? Not sure...
Just back from 2 weeks in Helsinki, which was wonderful. I like this city and Finland in general. It was great to work with this client again, not because they've become friends, though that helps a lot with how much enjoyment I can get from an assignemnt... One of the students gfted me with a very special offering. He's taken to a traditional Finnish art form, Puuko. His gift was a hand-made knife with a beautful initialzed leather sheath. I'll post pictures soon. During my first week in Helsinki I got to spend some time with Jacques. He's a colleague, I barely knew him before the trip and now we're friends. We went out several times and shared great conversations and stories... And Imet lots of Finns out in the bars the couple of times I stayed out late. I have fallen in love with the cities and the people I've met while on assignemnt, it's a fantastic part of my life...

During the trip I did no yoga. I even missed the opportunity to do a week-long mysore style workshop with Lino. Lisa would probably have a lot to say to me about that choice.

Though I did gently take advantage of all the saunas I had, to further the cause of a new posture...

One night before my trip, after one of my my hour-long sun salutation practices, I noticed that my legs looked very close to being able to do padmasana. And I gently lifted my left foot and placed it on my right shin. For a short moment I was looking down at my own legs in lotus. It was a shallow lotus, nonetheless it was a sight I hve not seen in maybe 35 years?? It was strange, made me feel kike a kid again. It took seven years of asana practice to get this to come about. I think it is mainly due to the effort I've been making to lean forward in my version of yogamudrasana, though who knows...

My gut feeling, that Uthplu-thehee (sp??) would be a cinch if legs would padmasan was correct...

Loren and I are about to start packing for or vacation. Going to spend some time in Nova Scotia. We found a nice place with help from Drew and Colleen. Colin and Hannah will join us next weekend. I hope iit'll be a break for both of them. Colin's been having a bit of a hard time since Madeline passed away earlier this month. We're looking forward to seeing them... I really should have written about our last pic-nic with Madeline and about the memorial service that Colin and Helga held for her.

Zen is wearing an elizabethian collar for the skin sore she's got from a fur matt-gone bad, and she'll be with Liz for a while. A difficult summer for her for sure...

I've got bags to unpack and laundry to wash and fold, and then bags to pack (for vacation). I've got lots to learn for work as there's new technology and the courses will have to change.

My first day back from vacation I'll be teaching on one of these new platforms...

Met four new friends from Bangalore, Guru, Kirin, Mhitin, and Muthu. Actually I had met Guru in 2006 during my last trip there...
In any case, they've joind once on our Thursday night gathering, and seem to be interested to come again...

Bluetooth sucks. Well at least do the headaches I get 5 minutes after I put on the BT earpiece I bought for my phone... I suspect it'll be the same for other devices... what will be the long-term effects of exposure to these waves???

Loren's out for a massage and I'm off to Karen's Monday morning.

Loren is about to go through some intense family stuff, her dad's health is starting to be problematic, and there's lots of concern and planning due to the various location of the siblings and thier specific needs and ideas...

Well got to get back into a home routine for a few days...

Smart

I just ordered a Smart for Two, by phone.
Should be driving it by the end of July, there's a bit of a wait on the delivery.
I think I did the right thing by not getting a red one.
