200-Hour Professional Certification Program
10 weekend Intensives: May 2010 – July 2011


A unique opportunity to study and practice intensely with experienced and knowledgeable yoga teachers.

This training is designed for students and teachers of all traditions who teach or who are interested in teaching groups of all levels. It is also for students and teachers who wish to take their own practice to a new level to deepen their understanding of Yoga.

During this training you will receive a basic, beginner teacher training with the following components:

Detailed examination and analysis of 40 yoga postures.
Learn how to accurately practice and teach asana by breaking down the poses into component parts along with proper usage of props.
Develop and maintain a self-nourishing personal practice.
Explore how to wisely, safely adapt poses for different body types and different levels of flexibility, strength, injury, age and understanding.

Study skills that create good foundation for an effective teacher:
basic teaching skills
effective verbal communication
proper demonstration skills
observing, correcting, adjusting
classroom management
Basic art of sequencing and hands on adjusting


The above will be taught through various methods including:
Small group work and peer teaching
Regular homework assignments
Test both theory and practical
Developing a meditation practice
In depth self exploration


We will, as a group, design practices for all major categories of poses each month. Participants will practice a set sequence of poses each month to enhance their familiarity with both the basics of the poses from a teaching point of view as well as refinements meant for their own development.

Basic anatomy regarding postures will be included.

Syllabus of Postures: those from the Ashtanga primary series excluding marichyasana B and D, Supta Kurmasana, Bhujapidasana and Setubhandasana.

It will also include Restorative postures and the Big Six.
