Long time no blog
My last blog was over a month ago. I an ashamed of myself ;)
On the practice front things are going well. Although sometimes recently I have just thought I am going backwards instead of forwards. I suppose practice is like that sometimes, an ever changing but always learning experience. I am still working on supta K, and am making progress, but it is slow. Which is probably a good thing really. Mari D is fab at the moment though, weirdly I have come to really like the pose.
And perversley after a weekend practicing at Mum and Dad's, headstand seems to have miraculously appeared. I can do it! I am still a bit wobbly, but I can get up consistently and get the legs up too. Quite a breathrough. I reckon the reason I had trouble was that at the yoga centre I was worried about knocking people over if I fell down. And at home I was worried about falling into the TV or on one of the cats. So fear was stopping me doing it.
Last night at the led class we did a couple of second series poses, which was cool. We did the first 3 poses, it is good to see what looms over the other side of primary. Although I think it will be some time before I get there. My checklist of things to be able to do first are full supta K, the jump back from bhujipidasana and gharba pidasana. I wonder about gharba pidasana actually. Maybe my legs are just too podgy to ever be able to do it. I can get one arm through OK, but not the other. Maybe I will try it soaked in water next time. As it is getting hotter in the yoga centre maybe it will be possible, here's hoping.
Also had a traumatic time last night. I had finally worked up the courage to ask the teacher for a reference for the teacher training course. I sort of muddled my words up a bit so she probably thinks I am a nutcase now, but she said no problem at all. I was so releived I had to ring up my mum and husband to tell them. They think I am mad, but I got myself so worked up about it in case the answer was no. Anyway, all is on for the teacher training in July.
Although I have almost decided to do the Scottish Yoga two year teacher training after I have done this 6 month course. My reasoning is that it is with the British Wheel of Yoga and the extra experience isn't going to hurt. But I might change my mind after the 6 month course. I just think two and a half years is a better length of time to practice teaching and really learn how to teach what I know while consolidating my own practice.
In other news I have just got a great recipe for onion bhagees to make in the dehydrator! I love my dehydrator :) I wonder what they will be like. Mind you the cookies I made the other day were so tasty husband ate them all! Which is funny as he is always laughing at me for making hippie food!
