New year begins

The biggest relevation on my mind is wheat, and the love hate relationship. During the holidays I pstarted eatting it again. Glue in the system. Contraction of muscles. Pain in the hip. Cut it out a week ago (minus a occasional cookie) and everything works better. Digestion back up to speed, muscles can fully extend. To bad wheat is sooo tasty in its various incarnations.
It really is cool when broadcasting your words out in the world manifest. The day after I blogged about opening myself to relationship I got a number and had a great date. I feel a bit insecure about blogging still, wanting to limit what I say. I need to blog like no one is reading. Which is probably the case.

Moonshine and Homebrew

One of my best friens came up from Santa Barbara this weekend. Scott is an artist, raises chickens in suburbia, ceramic artist, homebrewer (which I taught him), surfer, and kick ass dude. My brother now owns a still and Scott wanted to make some whiskey this weekend. I am a failed drinker. I think I lack dehydrogenase to digest it. One beer and done. Wine is rotten grapejuice that gives me headaches. Well, Saturday we spent 7 hours running the potstill. Sampling homemade whiskey, pear brandy, and homebrew that Scott brought with him. I sampled a bit of each, skipped practice Sunday, went hiking the Dipsea trail in Marin instead. And boy practice sucked today. Going through the motions as alcohol is still in my body. Or at least I can still smell in in me. Tight ass hips today! I did give Scott a private lesson on Sunday, and spent an hour and a half teaching the sun salutes. That was greatly informative for us both. One of my points to him was the practice is constant, and it informs me of my life. Of how my diet is, am I getting enough sleep and rest, etc. It seems like I can only practice yoga. I try adding other things, spinning, hiking, running, and my back tightens and my practice suffers. IS ashtanga yoga running my life? I guess so. But at the same time it is the source of power in my life. When I don't practice, I don't feel as good, as light, as strong and balanced. And almost eveyone I meet through yoga kicks as. Especially Ashtangis. Anyone pacticing everyday is a motivated person. Have never me so many pHDs in my life. And caring about the world in general. Loving Life

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle!

Stoked. The Teach added Kurmasana and Supta Kurm. Been having up and down practices with some hip pain moving around. Got the accupuncture and It seems to be fading away, leading to the rockin practice today. Floating, flowing.
Went to my frind Thomas' class on Sunday with my friend Lady Kat M. It was great to see Thom. We used to study together at the Monkey Shala, and He has been teaching at Yoga Mandala for 3+ years. His class was definately his own. He has been studying Tantra, and definately infused it in the class. He even talked about noticing the subtle energies of the body electric.
Well Class this morn was definately a flow of energy. I didn't actually eat that much yesterday, which really helped this morn. My clasp has come back for Mari D on the right, and the left was a few inches away. The teach added the tortise, and I am no where near. I gotta start using a strap.
Went to Santa Cruz with Lady Cat after practice. Ate some Brazilian Food and laid on the beach for a few hours. It was a beautiful sunny day and a great pleasure to lay around with a beautiful lady, bare feet in the sand.
Taught a private lesson last night in the city. That was a cool experience. Brought me back to the beginners body. Student T was tall, skinny, and very unflexibe. Updog was a challenge. As was the lunge forward to Warrior 1. Long legs made for new geometry challenges. Really Enjoyed it.
