Less than two weeks left in Montreal....
So the bus was early this morning. Finally a Sunday morning when I was rested enough to go to 9:30 practice with E and J and the stupid bus was early. It drove by when I was two blocks from the stop and there was no way I could have made it. So I walked the rest of the way to the stop and read the schedule...the next bus wasn't coming until 9:19...no way that I could make it to the 9:30 class. So, I turned around, walked home, chilled out for a little while, then hit the pavement to walk down the street to the 10:00 Moksha class. I was only the second Moksha class that I've taken, and it definitely made me miss Ashtanga.
For some reason, maybe my love of heat, hot yoga doesn't really do anything for me. I tend not to feel the heat. So I did an hour and forty-five minute class in 100+ degree heat, and I wasn't hot. Hmph. I find that Moksha makes me crave vinyasas like nothing else! I do the postures, I sweat, but I want more! I want something that makes my arms shake and my hamstrings lengthen. I really miss the strength aspect, you know, the 'hardcore' part that makes Ashtanga what it is.
What I did really enjoy about the Moksha series though was the back opening that the primary series lacks. The Moksha series include ustrasana, shalabhasana and dhanurasana...it was nice to open up my back in the heat. Oh, also, I really don't like watching myself practise in mirrors...it's weird and and throws off my (non-existent) balance.
Hopefully I'll make it to one of Darby's classes on Tuesday. My normal Monday night class with J is out of the question tomorrow, because I have a staff meeting...I don't want to go to the staff meeting, since I'm only working there for three more days, but...I have to.
Otherwise my week was good. Fairly uneventful. Watched The Corporation and Goodbye Lenin. Liked both of them. Went out on Friday night and had a grand old time. Booked a mover. Found someone to take over my lease on May 1st. I'm leaving in less than two weeks. It's better that I don't talk about it.
So I'm spending every moment that I can with friends. Doing dim sum tomorrow with the Model after she writes the last exam of her degree (YAY!). Girls night on Wednesday, big going away dinner on Thursday with work people (like, 25 people are coming!!!!), out for the Actress's birthday on Saturday, then packing, packing, packing like mad. This is insane.
There will be tears, there will definitely be tears. On the bright side though, I found the greatest organic/health food co-op in London. Still no Ashtanga studio though...only Moksha...must find an Ashtanga community.
